1. Who we are
Castquill ("we", "us", "our") is a user-generated content platform operated from Dublin, Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at privacy@castquill.com.
2. What data we collect
Depending on whether you join as a brand or a creator, we may collect:
- Account details: your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), and account type.
- Brand details: company name and chosen content niche.
- Creator details: the niches you create in and, where you provide it, portfolio content and payment information.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and basic usage data collected via cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
3. Why we use your data
We process your data to create and manage your account, match brands with creators, process payments, communicate with you about your account, keep the platform secure, and meet our legal obligations.
4. Legal basis for processing
Under the GDPR, we rely on: contract (to provide the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to operate and improve the platform and prevent fraud), consent (for non-essential cookies and marketing), and legal obligation (for tax and accounting records).
5. Who we share your data with
We share data only as needed to run the service: with the matched brand or creator you're working with, with service providers (hosting, payment processing, email delivery) acting on our instructions, and with authorities where legally required. We never sell your personal data.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations (for example, tax records are kept for the period required by Irish law). When data is no longer needed, we securely delete it.
7. Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
- To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@castquill.com.
- We will respond within one month, as required by the GDPR.
